FAQs Volunteer Co-Ordinator
The Volunteer Co-Ordinator, Jane, is always ready to answer any questions you may have regarding volunteering with the Reiki Association WA. Below are some answers to questions that regularly crop up.
What is the Volunteer Induction Program?
The Volunteer Induction Program (VIP) is an annual requirement for all members who wish to volunteer with the Reiki Association (WA) (RAWA). It is mandatory to complete the VIP before volunteering at any RAWA event.
The program serves to:
Ensure that all volunteers represent RAWA in the same professional way and with the same high standard, promoting consistency in practice and ongoing training.
Allow RAWA to work with organizations such as Solaris Care and MND WA, giving these organizations confidence in RAWA's professionalism.
Embed up-to-date health and safety practices, as guided by the WA Department of Health.
Provide coverage under the Association’s Public Liability Insurance when volunteering.
When is the next VIP training session scheduled?
The next VIP training sessions currently scheduled are:
Saturday 27th June
Saturday 30th August (Bunbury)
How can I find out the date of my last VIP training?
The date of your last VIP training is located in your profile in the Membership Portal.
What is the Monthly Share and when and where does it take place?
The Monthly Reiki Share is where participants can give and receive Reiki and connect with fellow practitioners. It also provides an opportunity for volunteers to treat clients, carers and members.
When: The last Saturday of every month, with Reiki from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm. Excluding December. View the Schedule here
Where: Solaris Cancer Care Cottesloe, at 80 Railway Street, Cottesloe.
Which locations require volunteers?
Volunteers are notified of upcoming volunteering opportunities. Examples include the following locations/initiatives:
Solaris Cancer Care Cottesloe:
RAWA Reiki Share (Last Saturday of every month, 12:00 pm–2:00 pm).
Solaris Cancer Care Group Reiki (Every Tuesday, 12:00 pm–2:00 pm).
Beacy Reiki Studio Fortnightly sessions during school terms, 11:00 am–1:00 pm. .
MND WA Support Group: A new monthly initiative
MND Pamper Day: Volunteers attend this event twice a year.
Public Speaking: Opportunities to give talks to local groups interested in hearing about Reiki.
