Welcome to the Reiki Association WA website!

Introduction

Reiki is a form of hands-on therapy.

The word ‘Reiki’ (pronounced ray-kee) means universal energy.

During treatments it is common to feel a gentle warmth, it aids relaxation and promotes a sense of calmness.

Reiki Association members practice Reiki in a manner compatible with all belief systems.

Treatments

After a simple introduction, clients are requested to lay face-up on a massage table. Shoes and coats may be removed, but the client remains fully clothed throughout the treatment.

Typically, the practitioner will follow a series of ‘traditional’ hands positions, but this may be modified to suit the client’s health, age, mobility etc.

At the conclusion of the hour-long session, the client may be offered a glass of water. Unless the Reiki practitioner is a trained counsellor, normally there is no discussion about matters arising during the treatment.

When appropriate, the Reiki practitioner may refer the client to other healthcare professionals for specialised treatments.

There are no contra-indications for Reiki treatments.

Complaints

In the unlikely event of any dispute between the practitioner and client, or any concerns about the received treatment or training, clients are encouraged to contact the Association, providing full details of their concerns. These concerns will be formally investigated through the Association’s Complaints Procedure, to be resolved to the satisfaction of all parties.
