What Is Reiki?
A Japanese Healing Technique
Reiki is a Japanese healing technique developed by Mikao Usui in the early 1900s. The word itself means “universal life force energy” – the vital energy that flows through all living things. As a gentle, non-invasive form of energy healing, Reiki is transferred through the hands of a trained Reiki practitioner to support the body’s natural ability to heal and restore balance.
During a Reiki treatment, practitioners use light hand positions across the body to direct healing energy where it’s needed most. This holistic healing approach addresses the whole person – body, mind, and spirit – creating deep relaxation and promoting overall wellbeing. Whether you’re experiencing physical discomfort, emotional stress, or simply seeking greater balance in your life, Reiki offers a systematic pathway to wellness.
The beauty of Reiki lies in its simplicity and accessibility. While rooted in traditional Japanese practice, Reiki training is available to anyone drawn to learn this healing art. From receiving your first session to eventually connecting with a teacher who resonates with you, Reiki offers a gentle invitation to explore your own healing journey.

The Reiki Healing Line
Distance Healing Support
The Reiki Healing Line is a compassionate community service where Reiki practitioners send distance healing energy to those in need. Simply submit a name and location (suburb or country), and the person will receive daily healing energy for an entire month, at no cost.
Distance Reiki transcends physical boundaries, with universal life force energy flowing wherever it’s needed. Requests can be renewed monthly for as long as support is required, whether for illness, surgery, emotional challenges, or life transitions.
Assisting Healthcare Providers
Our 25 year relationship with Solaris Cancer Care has shown how complimentary therapies can help people manage their pain and symptoms when receiving regularly.
